The Real Housewives of the Potomacis Karen Huger will be absent from the season 9 reunion tapings to focus on her health.
“Karen made the important decision to enter a private recovery program, so she was unable to attend today’s taping,” Huger’s manager, Ryan Tresdalesaid in a statement to Bravo’s The everyday meal on Thursday, January 9. “She was fully supported in this choice. We stand behind Karen as she embarks on this momentous journey and are proud of her for taking such a significant step forward in her personal growth.”
Earlier in the day, Bravo shared a sneak peek of the upcoming reunion, and Huger, 61, was noticeably absent from the cast.
“I’m dropping the #RHOP Season 9 Reunion seating chart here,” Bravo wrote via Instagram. “Expect more information soon…”
Mia Thornton, Wendy Osefo and newcomer Stacey Rush were seated on one side of the host Andy Cohen. They were on the other side Giselle Bryant, Ashley Darby and novice Keyarna Stewart.

Alberto Rodriguez/BravoIn a separate Instagram story, Bravo posted a photo of Cohen’s hand touching Bryant’s freshly manicured nails. “We’re holding space for the #RHOP reunion,” the network wrote. “I’m shooting now.”
In December 2024 Huger, 61 is convicted of DUI, careless driving, failure to control speed to avoid a collision and failure to notify authorities of a change of address, according to a report by Fox5 DC. The report also states that she was acquitted of one count of reckless driving.
After the conviction, the police body camera footage from Huger’s custody was also released.
“While we are disappointed with the jury’s verdict, we of course respect their decision and appreciate the time they took to hear our case,” Huger’s attorney, A. Scott Boldensaid people in a statement at the time. “We continue to reserve Ms. Huger’s right to appeal and fully intend to seek justice on her behalf. We appreciate your support and prayers for Ms. Huger and her family at this time.”
The reality star – whose nickname is Grand Dame – is due to be sentenced on Wednesday, January 29 and faces up to two years behind bars.
Throughout season 9 of The Real Housewives of the PotomacHuger said she was limited in what she could say about her case, which stems from a car accident in Maryland in March 2024.
That didn’t stop her colleagues and Cohen, 56, from discussing the courtroom drama.
“I think it’s all sad,” he said people in December 2024 “I haven’t really processed it yet, but I think it’s very sad.”
