“My ex-husband was Sam Simon, who created The Simpsons. I was married to him for seven years. We were together for about 10 years,” Jennifer, 66, revealed during her confession on the Tuesday, Dec. 3 episode of RHOBA. “When we divorced, I got a share of the The Simpsons in the divorce settlement.”
Jennifer was married to Sam, now 59, from 1984 to 1991. (She has since continued with Phil Lackwith whom he has been since 2004. Sam married Jamie Ferrell in 2000.)
“Nobody knew that The Simpsons it would have lasted for trillions of years,” she added. “Every day, honestly, every day I say, ‘Thank you, Sam.’
The conversation about Jennifer’s previous marriage came during the RHOBA an all-female cast trip to Oceanside. During their picnic lunch on the beach, Dorit Kemsley trusted Bozoma Saint John about her breakup with P. K. Kemsley after nine years of marriage. (The couple announced their split in May and on season 14 premiere was focused on consequences.)
“It seems like things just go on and on,” Jennifer said of Dorit. “It must be terribly stressful.”
The rookie also noted in his confessional that “it takes a long time to get over a divorce.”
Although Dorit and PK haven’t filed for divorce yet, on Tuesday’s episode things seemed to have changed in their relationship after a dinner party that took place during the previous week’s show.
“When PK and I split up, we decided we would have very open communication about the kids,” Dorit said in her confessional. “It was the only way to protect them from what was happening.”
However, she knew “nothing” about P. K. signs an apartment lease. She said the decision was “impulsive” and she thought it was “not very careful” on his part.
Dorit said Us Weekly exclusively when promoting RHOBA this past month “things don’t stay friendly” between her and PK as the season continues.
“Remember, we had just broken up when I was shooting the show. Now here we are, a few months later,” she shared. “You’re definitely going to see that ride over the course of the season and it’s going to give you a very good idea of what we’re dealing with.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs on Bravo on Tuesdays at 8pm ET and airs the following day on Peacock.
