IPL 2025 season will see many cricket superstars in different colors and Jitesh Sharma is one of them. The former Punjab Kings (PBKS) wicketkeeper-batter will now feature in the vibrant colors of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the next edition of the IPL.
After Punjab Kings opted not to go over their limit, Royal Challengers Bangalore acquired the services of Jitesh Sharma for a staggering INR 11 crore in the recent IPL 2025 mega auction in Jeddah.

In fact, RCB needed an experienced spinner after that Dinesh Karthikretirement, and Jitesh was the perfect choice for them. Jitesh Sharma, who earlier played for PBKS and Mumbai Indians, is excited to join Royal Challengers Bangalore, which is known for its passionate fans and dynamic energy.
He is also excited to play alongside former RCB skipper Virat Kohli in IPL 2025. Having spent three years with PBKS, Sharma served as vice-captain under Sam Curran in IPL 2024 and even led the team once.
The batsman and Vidarbha captain has so far played 40 matches and scored 730 runs at a strike rate of 151.13 in the IPL. The wicketkeeper has also taken 25 catches and affected 4 stumpings in the IPL so far.
Jitesh Sharma promises entertainment for RCB loyal fans in IPL 2025
Talking about the IPL 2025 mega auction, Jitesh, who is currently leading Vidarbha in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024-25, said that he is incredibly thankful and grateful to God that RCB has shown faith in him, which makes him confident and excited to play for them.
He also feels that Royal Challengers Bangalore is the “perfect team for him” as he is very excited to play in front of the fans and play freely and express himself in the upcoming IPL 2025 as he promised “entertainment and performance” to one of the best fan bases of the IPL.

Jitesh Sharma was quoted by the Times of India as saying, “I am very excited to play in front of the fans because, right now, I am in Vizag and I can see the loyalty and madness of the fans towards RCB. When I go to bat, I see fans chanting, “RCB, RCB, RCB!” I can feel their excitement, madness and loyalty towards RCB. It’s going to be fun and I’m really excited and excited to play in front of them.”

The 31-year-old wicketkeeper-batter is excited to play under Virat Kohli at RCB and hailed the iconic batsman’s energy and enthusiasm, which he believes will motivate him to raise his game. The right-handed batsman is also eager to learn from Kohli’s consistency, fitness and motivation.
Jitesh signed off saying: “It will be great to play under Virat Kohli. I would love to play under him because he is so energetic and enthusiastic – he can push my limits.
