Teachers trade union Baas Randi Weingarten says she is concerned that the closing of the Ministry of Education Could be just as harmful to students as the school closures were during Covid.
On Thursday President Donald Trump Signed an executive order that instructed educational secretary Linda McMahon to start the process of closing the department.
The executive order Early McMahon To “take all the necessary steps to facilitate the closure of the Ministry of Education and the Return Education Authority to the States, while continuing to ensure the effective and uninterrupted delivery of services, programs and benefits in which Americans trust.”
“You know, you can expel a department by taking out its people by taking out a web service or online service,” said Weingarten, President of the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), Friday about Bloomberg’s “Balans of Power”.

In a Wednesday press release, The AFT said that dismantling the Ministry of Education “is a movement that most people in America do not want because it will reduce the opportunities for students.”
Weingarten suggested that she would sue the Trump government with a quote in the press release with the text: “See you in court.”
