Jamie Carrager was impressed as Jacob Ramsay scored his first championship goal since September 2023, giving the Aston Villa in the eighth minute at West Ham on Sunday.
Ramsay finished one or two with Oli Watkins before finding the distant corner of Alfon Arela’s net for his second goal in the season, having succeeded one Victory in Champions League with 3-0 in Jung Boys.

Villa against West Ham: Watkins denied
Vigia thought he had scored a second on the same left side two minutes later, when Morgan Rogers hit the Watkins pass.
The three lion striker was considered offside, giving a postponement to West Ham and refused to Watkins on the 101st direct participation in the Premier League goal.
After a terrible start, Hammers improved as soon as they were given this permission to seek them for revenge for their defeat to the villa on January 10th.
In that case, Lucas Paqueta gave them a surprise advantage in the ninth minute in Graham Potter’s first match as responsible.

West Ham has played twice in London Stadium since, winning 3-2 from Fulham and lost 2-0 to Crystal Palace on January 18th.
These results left them in 14th place, 10 points above the relegation zone and seven fewer than the first half with the worst defensive record over the last four.
Villa started the day in eighth place, assisted by six wins and four draws in the last 10 home championship matches, though lost 1-0 to Monaco on Tuesday.
A third victory in a series of five unbeaten championship would give them a grade behind Bournemouth and Chelseaas well as two behind the fourth Manchester City.
