MSNBC star Rachel Maddow loses many of her staff as part of the production of the network, Fox News Digital has confirmed.
The Maddow team is expected to be reduced in April after she has finished broadcasting five nights five nights a week as part of MSNBC’s Primetime coverage of President Trump’s first 100 days in office. “The Rachel Maddow Show” will then return to only Monday, an arrangement that has mediated the most powerful host of the network, despite her elevated salary.
Many of the dismissed staff also worked on ‘The Alex Wagner Show’, the now canceled program that previously took over Maddow’s 9:00 pm ET-Tijdslot Tuesday to Friday, when ‘The Rachel Maddow Show’ only broadcast on Monday. “Inside with Jen Psaki” will take its place in MSNBC’s renewed programming arrangement, whereby the Maddow-Wagner shared employees are released.
The most senior producers of Maddow were saved and the employees who are cut were invited by the network to apply again for open positions. MSNBC does not consider these “widespread fired”, and resources are again allocated to support new programs and priorities.
MSNBC refused Fox News Digital’s request to comment.

On Monday evening, Maddow recognized her viewers frankly that fired her show could affect MSNBC’s treatment of his staff members and said that they were “really put by the writer”.

Maddow also offered a full threatening defense of her former colleague Joy Reid after MSNBC had canceled ‘The Reidout’.
“I am 51 years old. I have been working profitably since I was 12 years old, there is no colleague for whom I have had more affection and more respect than Joy Reid,” said Maddow.
“I love everything. I have learned so much from her. I have so much more to learn from her,” she went on. “I don’t want to lose her as a colleague here at MSNBC, and personally I think it’s a bad mistake to let her walk out of the door. It’s not my call, and I understand that, but that’s what I think.”
Maddow then called it “nerve-racking” for the network to cancel the shows of “two non-white hosts” (Reid and Wagner) in his weekday programming, as well as “The Katie Phang Show” on the weekend.
“And that feels worse than bad, regardless of who she replaces,” said Maddow. “That feels indefensible and I don’t defend it.”

While Maddow noticed that Wagner will stay as a political analyst with the network, she did not say that Reid’s Timeslot will be filled by Symone Sanders-TownsendMichael Steele and Alicia Mendez, of whom two are black and one is Latina, all together a weekend program together. Phang also stays with the network as a legal correspondent.
New functions at MSNBC is expected to be made available to affected employees before they are publicly posted. The dismissals of MSNBC come into the news industry during a difficult time, because CNN, the Los Angeles Times and Washington Post also recently reduced the workforce.
