Kate was diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer earlier this year, but revealed in September that she had finished chemotherapy. Royal author Phil Dampier said hello on Dec. 2 that Charlotte was a big help to her mother while she was undergoing cancer treatment.

“I’m told that although the Princess of Wales has apparently cared for her children during her cancer treatment and assured them she was getting better,” he told the publication. “Charlotte was a great source of strength for her.”

Dampier added: “Winston Churchill once said of the late Queen Elizabeth when he was a child that he had never seen such maturity in someone so young. And Charlotte seems to have inherited this trait from her great-grandmother, to whom she bears amazing resemblance.”
