Meghan Markle and Prince Harry welcomed their first baby, a son named Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsorin May 2019
“We are pleased to announce that Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their first child in the early morning of May 6, 2019,” the couple wrote on Instagram. “Their Royal Highnesses’ son weighs 7 lbs. 3 oz The Duchess and baby are both healthy and the couple have thanked members of the public for their shared excitement and support during this very special time in their lives. More details will be shared in the coming days.”
When Harry and Meghan took their baby out for his royal debut that month, the former actress beamed for their son.
“He has the loveliest temperament,” she told members of the press at Windsor Castle. “He’s really calm. He was the dream so it was a special few days.”
In January 2020 the couple announced their decision to step back from their senior duties as members of the royal family. They moved to Los Angeles after spending time with their son in Canada and have shared fewer public updates about the young prince. The couple welcomed their second child daughter Lilyin June 2021
