Police uses DNA to bind the 83-year-old man to the 40-year cold case murder


The police have arrested an 83-year-old man in connection with A cold matter involving the murder From an older woman in Dallas more than 40 years ago thanks to a DNA competition.

On Monday, the Dallas police announced an update with regard to the arrest of 83-year-old Willie Jones.

The police said Jones was initially arrested on January 16 For a conditional violation with regard to sexual violence.

While he was in custody, the police said that a DNA monster was gathered and “has been confirmed since then, related to a murder that goes back for more than 40 years.”

The police said Jones is accused of the murder From an older woman, Virginia White, who was found dead in her house in Dallas in 1981.

Jones was 40 at the time of the alleged murder, and White was 81 years old at the time of her death, the police confirmed.

“Our detectives work tirelessly to close families of victims of murder cases,” a spokesperson for the Dallas police told FOX News Digital.

The police added that Jones is not a suspect in other murder cases investigations.

Jones was searched for several warrants prior to his arrest From Dallas County.

Officials still have to release a motive for the murder or additional details about the death of White.

The police said that Jones will be charged for capital murder and will be held in the prison of Dallas County.
