Phil Mickelson calls on Fred Pairs for ‘Jerk Move’

Phil Mickelson tore fellow golf star Fred Kops in a now removed social media post after couples claimed that Liv Golf Star Brooks Koepka a return to the PGA Tour.

Mickelson said on Tuesday in a post on X that couples paved a “low class, jerk move” by apparently revealing in a recent radio-appearance that five-time big winner Koepka “wants to” return to the Tour Saudi Supported Golf League in 2022.

“If it is true, he took Brook’s control over the timeline and the story away. Anyway, this is a low class shock place from Fred.”

The message was in reference to comments that pairs made during an appearance on KJJ 93.3 FM In Seattle on Monday.

“I always talk to Brooks Koepka,” said couples. “I love Brooks Koepka, and I’m not going to say anything extra, except that I talk to him all the time. … He wants to come back, I will say that. I believe he really wants to come back and play the tour.”

Koepka left for the rival golf tour in 2022 prior to the inaugural season of the LIV.

The back and forth this week follows at an important meeting in the White House last month attended by Tiger Woods, PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan and Yasir Al-Rahalyyan, governor of the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia.

The meeting, the second of its kind, was seen as a movement to end the distribution between the two tours.

“Thanks to President Trump’s leadership, we initiated a discussion about the reunification of Golf,” said the PGA Tour in a joint explanation.

The Tour said that if necessary it would share more details, and added: “We are committed to move as quickly as possible.”
