“They have to come together,” he said. “They have had a lot of discussion back and forth. They both mean good, and eventually a deal will happen. I think it will happen pretty quickly. It would be nice to see the best golfers play against each other.”

The president said he played the role of mediator between the two competitions and tried to accelerate the situation. PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan, Tiger forestsAdam Scott and Liv Golf’s Yasir Al-Rahalyyan met last week about the possibility of re-uniting the sport.

“They are all great people, and they want to work it out,” Trump added. “So, if I can help you to work out … I can’t get anything out of it. I can help them work it out. I just think golf – it’s very much an individual sport and you want to see the best players Playing against each other and not playing at two different locations. “

Last week was the second time in a month that the PGA and LIV had conversations.

“I think things will heal soon,” Woods said at the Genesis Invitational. “We’re going to get this game in the right direction. It has been going in the wrong direction for a number of years and the fans want us all playing together, all the top players who play together, and we are going to make that happen.”
