NGAD was conceived as a “family of systems” aimed at a sixth generation fighter jet that has created the United States, advanced air dominance capacities to combat almost-pear opponents such as China and Russia.

Under President Donald Trump’s Administration, which took office in January, the program progressed after a period of uncertainty that has made doubts about the future of the next generation of fighter jet.

Last year the program was confronted with potential delays or scaling back due to budget pressure and cost overruns in other Air Force programs. There were also discussions about reconsidering fundamental design elements or moving resources to unmanned drone programs.

The expected announcements signals designs that were completed last year are chosen for NGAD.

Boeing has had a headwind for both his commercial and defense companies. A victory would be a shot for his St. Louis, Missouri, Fighter Jet Production companies, while a loss would contribute to the misery of Boeing.

Lockheed was recently eliminated from the competition to build the navy on the next generation, on carrier-based Stealth-hunter. If it loses the NGAD contract, it will probably double his F-35 Fighter JET program and international sale of its F-16 Jets.
