Patrick Mahomes and Brittany Matthews‘ romance gives us all feelings – starting with theirs high school love beginnings.
The couple started out as two friends in Texas who went to school together. The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback became close to Matthews in 2011, when he was just a freshman at Whitehouse High School.
After dating for several years, the couple attended different colleges but remained an item.
“He ended up going to Texas Tech and that’s when it really hit me, ‘Oh shit, he can go play pro football,'” Matthews said Today in December 2020 about her then-fiancé’s soccer skills. “It was surreal to see him live his dream and to see him grow as an athlete and as a man in general was just amazing.”
They cemented their relationship in March 2022 when they said yes in hawaii. Since then, Mahomes and Matthews have embraced married life — and the craziness that comes with raising three kids.
