Flyers can choose the exit row on an airplane because of the extra space offered, but there are restrictions associated with booking a seat in that area.
Flight attendants must read a verbal question asking for confirmation that passengers are willing and able to help in the event of an emergency.
This year, a woman on a flight from Charlotte Douglas International Airport in North Carolina was removed from the exit row after a verbal disagreement with the crew, forcing her and all passengers to leave the plane.
A TikTok user posted a video of the interaction, which received more than 80,000 views.
The passenger appeared to be disrespectful to the flight’s crew members and joked that she would only save herself in the event of an emergency, the footage shows.
