Parma has called former Ajax, Roma and Interre-Back Cristian Chivu as their new director.
Former International Romania, 44, replaces Fabio Pecchia, who has been in charge of 2022 and led Parma to Serie B promotion at the end of last season.

Chivu previously trained youth teams at Inter Milan, the club where he ended his career between 2018 and 2024.
Parma separated ways with Pecchia on Monday after a fourth consecutive defeat kept the club in the relegation zone.
“Chivu, along with his staff made up of Antonio Gagliardi (Assistant Manager), Angelo Palombo (Technical Assistant) and Nicola Pavarini (goalkeeper coach), will start training with the team from this afternoon at the Mutti Training Center” , Parma said in a statement.
Chivu’s first game will be a home match against Bologna on Sunday. Parma is 18th in Serie A in 20 points after 25 games, but it’s just one point from Empoli in the 17th, outside the relegation positions.
