Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have announced their male lineups for the upcoming tour South Africawhich is scheduled to take place from 10 December 2024 to 7 January 2025. The tour will include three T20Is, three ODIs and two Tests.
In a remarkable decision, star pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi has been dropped from the Test squad, with the selectors opting to manage his workload to keep him fit for future work, including ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Shaheen remains a key part of the limited overs squads for the tour of South Africa.
Test team highlights
Fast bowler Muhammad Abbas returns to the Test team after last appearing in Jamaica in August 2021. Abbas, who has an impressive 90 wickets in 25 Tests, earned his recall after a stunning Quaid-e-Azam Trophy campaign where he took 31 wickets in just five games.
