Nominations for 2025 Oscars are included, and a select group of movie stars will be vying for gold at the 97th annual Academy Awards in a few weeks.
Bowen Young and Rachel Sennott announced the nominees at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ Samuel Goldwyn Theater on Thursday, January 23. Emilia Perez dominates the nomination list with 13 in total, including Best Picture, Best Supporting Actress for Zoe Saldana and Best Actress in a Leading Role for Carla Sophia Gascon.
Brutalist and Evil with a total of 10 nominations. Both films are contenders for Best Picture with Stars Adrien Brody, Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande winning individual nom.
The three films in the Best Picture category are joined by Anora, Complete obscurity, Conclave, Dune: Part Two, I’m still here, Nickel Boyce and The substance.

The Oscars will be held on Sunday, March 2 at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles at Ovation Hollywood. Conan O’Brien is set for host awards show for the first time, joking in a November 2024 statement, “America asked for it, and now it’s happening: Taco Bell’s new Cheesy Chalupa Supreme. In other news, I’m hosting the Oscars.
“We are thrilled and honored that the incomparable Conan O’Brien will host the Oscars this year,” Academy Executive Director Bill Kramer and president of the academy Janet Young said in a joint press release at the time. “He is the perfect person to help us lead our global celebration of film with his brilliant humor, love of movies and experience in live television.”
Their statement continued: “His remarkable ability to connect with audiences will bring viewers together to do what the Oscars do best – honor this year’s spectacular films and directors.”
