David Ornstein has given an update on the current contract situation with Liverpool, with an offer made to Virgil van Dijkbut it seems that it has not yet progressed very far Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
One of the most trusted copywriters in the business, Ornstein wrote today in the Sporting on Liverpool’s continued efforts to sign all three of Van Dijk, Salah and Alexander-Arnold as they move closer to becoming free agents.
Liverpool ready to offer £91m for two January transfers!
The report states that Liverpool have made some progress with Van Dijk, making a bid for the Netherlands international, although there is still some way to go to further details of the deal.
It appears that Liverpool’s offer for Van Dijk fell short of his expectations, according to Ornstein, so further efforts may be required from the Reds.

What about Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold?
Worryingly, there doesn’t seem to be much of an update on either of these two, which is, in itself, an update of sorts, as it arguably signals just how badly Liverpool are handling this situation.
The Athletic again note that Alexander-Arnold has attracted the interest of Real Madrid, who will surely be desperate to land a world-class talent like this on a free transfer.
An offer for Salah is expected soon but, remarkably, has yet to come, with LFC somehow allowing this saga to drag on and on for months.
As things stand, Salah, Van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold could all leave Anfield with nothing at the end of the season.
This scenario would have been unthinkable not long ago, and it’s hard to imagine it happening at any other big club, with Liverpool proving uncharacteristically out of sorts in this regard despite everything going well on the pitch this season under the new coach. Arne slot machine.
