Oregon Ducks football star quarterback Dillon Gabriel made it clear under what conditions he believes football matches should be played.

During an interview with KOIN News on Tuesday prior to his team’s Rose Bowl game against State of OhioGabriel described his ideal vision for the conditions in which his games should be played, and questioned the idea of ​​playing in snow and rain.

“We like warm weather. I think we should play football more on nice grass instead of on artificial grass. And the more sun, the better. Why do we do this to ourselves? Do fans want to sit in the snow and rain?” said Gabriel. “Let’s just make arenas. Let’s make domes. Let’s make grass. Let’s have more fireworks at games.”

Gabriel didn’t even rule out supporting the premise that all college football games would be played in Hawaii.

“I don’t think anyone would be mad about it,” Gabriel, a native of Hawaii, said of the idea. “Let’s find more sun.”

Gabriel, who is completing his sixth season of college football, has been one of the best quarterbacks this season. Gabriel was named a first-team All-American, Big 10 MVP and Big 10 Offensive Player of the Year in 2024.
