The Nottingham Forest will be without Chris Wood for the square conflict of the FA Cup against Brighton.

The striker, who is the top scorer of Forest this season with 18 goals, won an injury while being in international duty with New Zealand and will not show the Amex Stadium on Saturday.

Before the game, director Nuno Espirito Santo said: “He went for a scan today.

“He won’t be available for this game. He felt a kick very hard on his hip. So there’s pain there. We have to wait.”

The Forest Head said he would evaluate the team later today with a number returning from international duty.

“Every time there is an international break that we need to evaluate,” he added. “Many of them have just arrived today. We are still waiting for Ramon Sosa tomorrow and we will evaluate all this.”

Nuno: Gibb-White does not need to prove anyone wrong

Morgan Gibbs-White enjoyed a mixed international period after initially left outside the England team of Thomas Tuchel before writing to the injured Cole Palmer.

Frustingly, however, the 25 -year -old was left out of England’s first game against Albania, before being left on the bench for the second game against Latvia.

Nuno added: “We are proud of all our players who went to the international break.

“With Morgan. I know him so well and he knows me. We don’t need to talk. For me, Morgan is a top player with so much talent and quality.

“The level of performance and quality he gave us with and without the ball – I admire Morgan.

“He does not need to prove anyone wrong. This is not the state of mind he must have. He must compete and play and give his teammates and the Nottingham Forest whatever he has. Things will come naturally.”

Nuno hits the day’s date

Espirito Santo faced the media shortly after the clubs agreed to maintain the deadline for summer window at the end of August and not change to close before the season begins on August 16th.

By voting, he added: “I think the big issue remains, and that is that the window will still be open when the Premier League competition begins.

“This battle is not won. What I think is better for competition is that when it begins, the window must close.”
