Vick has had conversations with Sacramento State to become their next head coach. ESPN reported this Monday.

However, the Sacramento Bee reported that Vick was not a candidate for the Sacramento State job, citing an unnamed “member of the school’s athletic department” who told the newspaper that ESPN’s report was a rumor.

Sacramento State president Luke Wood released a statement to ESPN regarding the Vick rumor.

Vick had to rehabilitate his image, and the NFL eventually let him play with the Philadelphia Eagles, where he spent five seasons after being released from prison in 2009. He would spend brief stints with the New York Jets and Pittsburgh Steelers before retiring in 2015. .
