NBA postpones Bucks-Pelicans game due to historic snowstorm in New Orleans

The NBA has postponed Wednesday’s New Orleans Pelicans-Milwaukee Bucks game due to the historic snowstorm that has hit the area.

As the storm dropped about a foot of snow, travel became difficult as the typically warm city was unprepared for the elements.

The Bucks flew into town to beat the snowstorm on Monday, a day earlier than they normally would have flown in for a game against the Pelicans.

But as temperatures remained around 30 degrees on Wednesday, many highways in urban areas were closed by authorities and city roads were still covered in ice.

Schools and businesses across the area remained closed Wednesday, while Louis Armstrong International Airport canceled all commercial departures due to the weather. Taking these factors into account, the NBA has postponed the game, with no date currently set for the game to be made up.

The Bucks’ next game is against the Miami heat back in Milwaukee on Thursday at 7:30 PM ET.

After that game against the Heat, the Bucks will go on a road trip up the West Coast starting on Saturday and don’t have another home game until February 2.

The Bucks are scheduled for the next game the Pelicans towards the end of the regular season at home on April 9.

The Pelicans, on the other hand, are scheduled to play on both Friday and Saturday, making it difficult for the NBA to quickly schedule the postponed game.

The Pelicans have struggled this season as they are the second-worst team in the Western Conference at 12-32.

The Bucks have had much more success than the Pelicans and are 24-17, good for fourth in the Eastern Conference.
