NBA News: Steve Kerr van Warriors says that more traveling violations must be called

Golden State Warriors Head coach Steve Kerr calls on NBA officials to whistle travel, one of the most basic rules in basketball, more often.

Kerr, 59, a technical error was assessed during the third quarter of the 119-101 victory of the Warriors on the Charlotte Hornets Monday after what he thought was not called an obvious journey.

“I don’t understand why we don’t teach our officials to call traveling in this competition,” Kerr reporters said after the competition. “They do it great and finish their tail and communicate well, but I see five or six trips a game that are not called.

“You know that it is a problem if there are about a hundred fans in the stands and every coach on the sidelines when I watch film and everyone is (signaling for a travel call). Everyone sees it, so we clearly don’t give our officials to watch the feet as a competition.”

Kerr exclaimed his own team and said he saw the Warriors committed four traveling offenses that were not called in their losses Philadelphia 76ers Saturday.

Kerr said that a change with regard to travel violations must be made “for the well -being of the game.”

“The entire game is based on footwork,” said Kerr. “We have to enforce traveling violations, and we don’t do it. And I don’t understand why … these (civil servants) are great. They are doing great and they have a million things to watch, but footwork is the whole base of the game, and we have to call. It will be a much better game when we clean it up.”
