Pakistan left-armer Mohammad Nawaz and Bangladesh pacer Tanzim Hasan Shakib were involved in a heated exchange during the Bangladesh Premier League 2024-25 (BPL 2024-25) match between Khulna Tigers and Sylhet Strikers on Sunday 12 January .
Khulna Tigers batsman Mohammad Nawaz got the better of his emotions as Sylhet Strikers pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib lost his cool before launching into a heated war of words during Match 17 of the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League 2024-25 (BPL 2024-25) in Sylhet.

The incident unfolded on the first ball of the 17th over of Khulna Tigers’ chase against Sylhet Strikers in the BPL 2024-25 encounter at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet. Tanzeem bowled a slow delivery and it worked as Nawaz was caught by Zakir Hasan at fine leg.

As the Pakistani hit for 33 runs off 18 balls, including 3 fours and 2 sixes, Tanzim said something to Nawaz while approaching him. And then the real drama began as Mohammad Nawaz hit Tanzim Hasan Shakib, who was enraged by the action of the Pakistan batsman.
Both the players went back at each other after crossing paths and had a verbal altercation after Nawaz angrily marched towards the Bangladesh pacer. However, those inside the stadium intervened and separated the two players.
However, Nawaz and Tanzim were not ready to end their verbal exchange but the Sylhet Strikers players made sure there was no more drama between the players by walking him towards the dugout.

The incident was just a reminder of the Virat Kohli-Sam Konstas event during the recent Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 between India and Australia. However, Konstas revealed that Kohli inadvertently pushed him after the whole episode during the fourth Test at the MCG.
Sylhet Strikers thrash Khulna Tigers by 8 wickets in BPL 2024-25 clash
Talking about the BPL 2024-25 match, Sylhet Strikers posted 182/5 on the board in their 20 overs thanks to amazing innings from Rony Talukdar and Zakir Hasan against Khulna Tigers. While Talukdar made 56 runs off 44 balls, Zakir hit a stunning knock of 75 runs off just 46 balls in Sylhet.

Abu Hinder and Ziaur Rahman made two wickets for the Tigers. Chasing the target, Khulna Tigers got off to a great start but wickets kept falling at the other end. William Bosisto (43) and Mohammad Nawaz (33) were the top scorers for the Tigers against the Strikers.
Mahidul Islam Ankon also played a handy knock of 28 runs but most of the players failed to face even the 15 balls and finally, Khulna Tigers suffered a heavy eight-wicket loss against Sylhet Strikers in the BPL 2024-25 match at Sylhet. International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet.
Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Reece Topley and Ruyel Miah have claimed two wickets each while Nahidul Islam has taken a wicket to contribute to Sylhet Strikers’ huge win over Khulna Tigers.
