Mexico has started The process of delivery of dozens of high-level cartel leaders and members at the US, including Rafael Caro Quintero, a former leader of the Guadalajara cartel involved in the kidnapping and murder of Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Agent Enrique “Kiki” Camarena in 1985.
The founders of Los Zetas, Miguel and Omar Morales, also known as Z-40 and Z-42, will also be extradited to the US.
The extradition was done at the request of the American government when President Donald Trump’s tar liefdeadline looms. One of the president’s requirements is that Mexico consists of dangerous cartels and fentanyl production and distribution.

“This morning, 29 people who had been deprived of their freedom in various penitentiary centers in the country were transferred to the United States of America, which were required because of their ties with criminal drug trafficking organizations, among other things,” wrote Mexico’s officer and secretariat of safety and civil protection.
“The custody, transfer and formal delivery of the aforementioned people is carried out under institutional protocols with the necessary respect for their fundamental rights, in accordance with our Constitution and the National Security Act and at the request of the US Department of Justice.
“This promotion is part of the tasks of coordination, cooperation and bilateral reciprocity, within the framework of respect for the sovereignty of both nations.”

The Associated Press reported that the removal of the Mexican druglords coincided with a visit to Washington, DC, by the Mexican Foreign Minister Juan Ramón de la Fuente and other economic and military officials of the top, who met each other American State Secretary Marco Rubio.
The meeting was the last in current negotiations with the US about trade and security relationships, which had been radically shifted since Trump returned to the Oval Office on January 20.

Caro Quintero was again arrested by Mexican troops in July 2022 after he reportedly returned to drug trafficking. He was the former leader of the cartel of Guadalajara, and The DEA claims He had returned to drug trafficking and ordered bloody attacks in the border state of Noord -Mexico.
Caro Quintero blamed Camarena for a raid on a marijuana planage in 1984, reportedly ordered his kidnapping the following year. Camarena’s body was found a month later with proof of torture and abuse.
The FBI added Caro Quintero to the Top 10 Most Wanted List In 2018 and offered a reward of a maximum of $ 20 million for information that led to the arrest and/or conviction of Quintero.

In January, a non -profit group that represents the Camarena family insisted on the Trump administration to have long -existing American requests for Mexico to deliver Caro Quintero, the AP learned after obtaining a copy of the letter from a person who is familiar with the reach of the family.
