Mexican troops are starting to arrive at the southern border after deal with Trump


Mexico started using the 10,000 troops that promised that it would send to its border with the United States in response to President Donald Trump’s tariff threats While his administration breaks down the border security.

Troops with the Mexican National Guard and the army were seen on the border that Ciudad Juárez and El Paso, Texas separate, according to the Associated Press Wednesday.

The two largest commitment locations are Ciudad Juárez and Tijuana, where at least 1,650 troops and 1,949 troops are sent respectively, according to the Mexican government via the AP.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Communicated to use troops in the northern border hours before Trump approved rates for imports were set to get into force in response to the drugs and illegal alien beings flowing from Mexico to the US.

“We have to protect Americans, and it is my duty as a president to guarantee the safety of all,” Trump wrote in a social post -post Saturday. “I made a promise on my campaign to stop the flow of illegal alien beings and drugs to flow across our borders, and Americans voted overwhelming.”

Part of the deal that Trump hit with Sheinbaum included his promise to combat the human weapons in Mexico that feed on cartel violence.

Mexican patrols already worked along the border near Tijuana on Wednesday, the AP said, and service members along the bushy edge of Ciudad Juárez were also shown by removing improvised ladders and ropes that had stopped in trenches.

“There will be permanent supervision of the border, “ National Guard leader José Luis Santos Iza told reporters when the first set of soldiers arrived. “This operation is mainly to prevent drug trafficking from Mexico to the United States, mainly Fentanyl.”

State Secretary Marco Rubio, The one on a diplomatic journey through Latin -America thanked the Mexican government for sending the troops to the border, according to a statement from Mexico.
