Meghan Markle postpones Netflix series premiere due to wildfires in Los Angeles


Meghan Markle’s return to Netflix was postponed due to the ongoing issues Wildfires in Southern California.

The Duchess of Sussex revealed that her new series ‘With Love, Meghan’, which was set to premiere on the streaming giant on January 15, was moved to a March 4 release date.

Markle, a Los Angeles native who attended all-girls Catholic Immaculate Heart High School, requested that her show’s debut be rescheduled due to the ongoing fires, including the Palisades Fire and Eaton Fire.

“At the request of Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, and with the full support of Netflix, the release of the show – a heartfelt tribute to the beauty of Southern California – has been moved from its previously announced January premiere date to March 4. to the ongoing devastation caused by the Los Angeles wildfires,” a Netflix representative confirmed to Fox News Digital.

“I am grateful to my partners at Netflix for their support in delaying the launch while we focus on the needs of those affected by the wildfires in my home state of California,” said Markle.

On Friday, Markle and husband Prince Harry supported victims and relief efforts during a meeting with Pasadena Mayor Victor Gordo.

‘There have been forest fires in recent days Southern California have swept through neighborhoods, destroying families, homes, schools, medical care centers and more, affecting tens of thousands of people from all walks of life. A state of emergency has been declared,” the pair wrote on their website on Thursday.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have listed organizations on their site that are actively helping wildfire victims, including the Animal Wellness Foundation, which houses and cares for evacuated animals; Compton Cowboys, which provides emergency horse transport services, and Airbnb and 211LA, which have joined forces to, among other things, provide free temporary housing to people who have been displaced.

Prince Harry made a brief cameo among clips of the Duchess cooking, gardening and dancing in her kitchen alongside famous friends including Mindy Kaling and Roy Choi.

The series, produced by Markle, “redefines the genre of lifestyle programming, combining practical how-tos and candid conversations with friends new and old,” Netflix said.

“Meghan shares personal tips and tricks, embracing playfulness over perfection and highlighting how easy it can be to create beauty even in the unexpected. She and her guests roll up their sleeves in the kitchen, garden and beyond, and invite you out to do the same.”

The couple’s multi-year deal with Netflix came about after they stepped back from their royal duties and moved to California in 2020. They first released their amazing docuseries, “Harry and Meghan,” in 2022. The show earned the largest single-day audience for any Netflix series since monitoring began in October 2022.

A year later, they followed up with the docuseries “Heart of Invictus” in 2023 and produced “Polo” in 2024.
