Mbappe admits “making mistakes” as France’s captain in front of Les Bleus’s return

Kylian Mbappe is about to return to the French national team against Croatia after a six -month absence.

The Captain of Les Bleus will lead the team to Split for the first leg of the quarterly final of the league championship on Thursday, with the second leg scheduled for Sunday at Stade de France.

This marks MBAPPE’s first start for France from their 3-1 defeat to Italy on September 6, a race in Parc des Princes, the home of his former Paris Saint-Germain club.

Reflecting this period, Mbappe admitted that he failed to manage the situation – which saw him examined to ask only to play the important games for his country – well.

“I’m clear enough to find out what I’m doing well and what I’m not doing well. I know people were not happy with what I did on and off the pitch and I didn’t do it well,” Mbappe said during a press conference before matching.

“I have no problem questioning myself. I never had any problems with criticism when it is worth it and invokes well.”

In September, the French star was competing for both Real Madrid and the national team. At that time, he rejected external views, stating that it was “the least of my concerns”.

In addition, he previously downgraded his concerns about the return to the PSG stage after departing the high profile, which was characterized by tense relations with the club and supporters of the club.

Now, six months later, he recognizes that some of the reviews they faced at the time were justified.

“I did not play well against Italy and the press conference (before the match) did not thank the people, because as a captain I did not bring people together,” he admitted.

“I accept this, but now the most important thing is to move on and not to repeat the same mistakes.”

There were speculations about whether he would keep the captain, but after discussions with coach Didier Deschamps, he has maintained his leading role.

Mbappe stayed outside the matches of the French Championship against Israel and Italy in November, with deschamps stating that it is “better in this way” given Fround’s physical and mental state.

His absence from a previous international window due to a minor thigh injury also caused a dispute, as he continued to play for Real Madrid despite the fact that he was not available for national duty.

This led to frustration between French fans and raised questions about his priorities between the club and the country.

However, Mbappe has re -discovered his form with Real Madrid and was productive this season, complying with 31 goals in 44 appearances.

“I feel good, I feel happy to play football,” he said. “I am pleased to be here to help the team (France).”
