Dallas Mavericks Assistant -Coach Darrell Armstrong was arrested in the early hours of Saturday and accused of serious abuse on his girlfriend, the police said.
Dallas police officers were called to the 1000 block of Ross Ave. in Downtown dallas Around 3:45 am, where an investigation discovered that Armstrong and his girlfriend had argued.
At one point Armstrong hit her with a gun and, according to the police, threatened to shoot her. A sworn explanation for arrest for Armstrong, obtained by Fox 4 Dallassaid the incident started because his girlfriend asked him about a text from another woman.

Allegedly, the victim said that Police Armstrong had drunk that night and demanded that she gave him her keys to their apartment. She then claimed that Armstrong was on the phone with another person when he grabbed a gun and hit her on the side of the face.
Authorities said they saw a stamp on the cheek of the woman under her left eye.
“I’m going to shoot you,” the victim said, reportedly quoting what Armstrong said to her said while he was loading the weapon.
The Mavericks On Sunday afternoon a statement released about the arrest of Armstrong.
“The Dallas Mavericks are aware of an incident involving a member of our staff and collecting all relevant information about the incident,” is the statement, per Fox 4 Dallas. “We take this issue seriously. The employee has been placed on administrative suspension pending the outcome of legal proceedings.

“This issue is currently being assessed by the right legal authorities. Because of this fact, we will allow the legal process to conduct its course and we will refrain from further comments while the procedures are underway.”
Larry Taylor, lawyer for Dallas Mavericks Assistant coach Darrell Armstrong, also gave an explanation for Fox News Digital.
“We are in the preliminary stages of conducting our own independent investigation into the conditions of yesterday’s incident in which my customer Darrell Armstrong is involved,” was the statement. “Mr. Armstrong was an open member of the Dallas community as a coach during his match days. We will have more to say about this incident in the coming days.”
Armstrong is an assistant coach at the Mavericks since 2009 and is part of the 2011 NBA-Champion team along the way.
He is a member of the Orlando Magic Hall of Fame, after he had spent nine of his 14 NBA seasons with the franchise. Armstrong initially played abroad from 1991-94 before the magic gave him a shot during the 1994-95 season.
Armstrong then won the most improved player prize from 1998-99 and Sixth Man of the Year Award after an average of 13.8 points, 6.7 assists and 3.6 rebounds mainly from the bank more than 50 games.

Armstrong also played for the Mavericks, New Orleans Hornets, Indiana Pacers and New Jersey Nets during his career, which ended in 2008.
