Mathys Tel opens why he joined Tottenham despite the original rejection

The New Tottenham, who signs Mathys Tel, described his decision to leave Bayern Munich for the side of Ange Postecoglou as the “best choice” for his career, despite the previous one reducing a move at the North London Club.

The 19 -year -old French front made the transition from the Bundesliga giants to Spurs on the day of the transfer time, after a sudden heart change.

The deal sees him participating in an initial loan, with the option of buying a fee that is believed to be about £ 50m. This season, Tel has found Limited Opportunities in Bayern, with only eight league matches.

Speaking for the first time as a Spurs player, he said: “I am very excited about my teammates, for the fans. This is a new challenge for me, a new chapter that will open. Very excited about it.

“Why I chose Tottenham Tottenham, because this was the best choice for me, what was important to me. I felt the commitment, I talked to the President (President Daniel Levy), I talked to the manager.

“I’m young. I’ve started growing up and that was the best choice for me and I’m very happy. ”

Tel is one of the three new first group additions made by the Spurs in January and there will be high expectations to have an immediate impact, as the club seeks to turn what was a disappointing time. The front scored 16 goals in 83 appearances during his time in Bayern.

The Spurs suffered a tough run in the Premier League, securing just two wins in their last 12 matches, letting them sit 14 on the table.

However, the signs of improvement appeared with a 2-0 win over Brdford on Sunday and have advanced in the last 16 of the Europa League.

Tottenham will head to Anfield on Thursday with a 1-0 advantage in the second part of the Carabao Cup semifinal against Liverpool, a match that could see his debut for the club.

“I think I’m a natural player, fast, technician,” Tel added.

“I play every moment, every game with my heart. I live with this pressure. I always have to promote myself to go up and look forward. ”

The Tel also revealed that his decision to join Spurs was influenced by France’s colleagues under 21 Wilson Odobert.

“I talked to Wilson, he told me you have to come here. He’s my friend, I played with him in the French team, we’re good friends. He told me to come, it’s a great team and you’ll see. It’s very nice.

“Football is a dream for me to play with the first team, for the best in the world.

“I’m ready for every game. That’s why I’m there. I know what to do for Tottenham, for the team, for the fans, and I hope to do it. ”
