The actors are reuniting to play an on-screen couple in the upcoming NBC project, Duoaccording to a Deadline report posted on Thursday, December 5th.
The publication reported that Wood, 36, will play a “kind blue-collar worker,” while Benoist, 36, will portray a “magnetic performer looking for her next break,” and the two “unexpectedly cross paths.”
Duo, which was written by Wood, was described by Deadline as reminiscent of Daisy Jones and the Six and will showcase the musical abilities of both actors.

Benoist and Wood met while working on The CW super girl when Wood joined the series in Season 2 in 2016. like Mon-El. Benoist was already playing Kara Danvers (aka the titular superhero) to the leading lady.
Their characters began to meet on the screen – a romance that then grew into romance in real life.
Rumors of a spark between Benoist and Wood first surfaced in March 2017 when they were spotted together at Los Angeles International Airport. A week later, the couple confirmed their relationship by showing PDA on the beach in Mexico.
Their romance continued to flourish in February 2019. the actors announced their engagement.
“Yes, yes, it will always be yes,” Benoist wrote via Instagram to announce the engagement, while Wood captioned his post: “The happiest.”

Their relationship reached its next milestone in March 2020, when Benoist and Wood announced that they are expecting their first child together.

“A non-dog baby is coming into our family very soon!!!” Benoist wrote via Instagram alongside a photo of her holding a baby shirt and Wood cuddling one of their dogs. “@christophrwood has always been an old dad by nature but now he’s going to be real!”
On Instagram, Benoist and Wood announced the arrival of their son Huxley in September 2020.
“Huxley Robert Wood came here a few weeks ago and this little boy is everything,” Benoist captioned a photo of their son’s hand, while Wood wrote of the same photo: “Our son is born, his name is Huxley, he is amazing and no, it’s probably none of your business, I won’t see you in 18 years.’
