One state representative is not happy with the NCAA -Tournament Selection committee leaves their team behind.
West Virginia Patrick Morrisey government stood during a press conference on Monday with a sign with a “National Corrupt Athletic Association” after the mountain climbers of West Virginia had not reached the Madness bracket of March.
The mountain climbers were one of the teams in the bubble, and although some believed they had a strong thing to be one of the 68 selected teams, the committee eventually thought differently.

“West Virginia deserved to be in the NCAA tournament,” said Morrisey. “This is a judicial miscarriage and theft at the highest level.”
Morrisey has also announced that he asked the attorney -general John McCuskey of West Virginia to open an investigation into the NCAA selection committee to see if “back door deals” are closed.
The mountain climbers were a rand tournament team after they had gone 19-13 in general while she finished 10-10 in Big 12 Conference Play.
Many believed that West Virginia would go into the tournament when the Big 12 tournament started because they had the team to make a possible run on the title. However, A surprising loss for ColoradoWho had last place in the conference during the regular season, all changed that.

Whether that was the decisive factor in the mountain climbers who were left off the bracket was not announced by the selection committee, but the word “snub” was quickly thrown around when that happened.
The results of the bracket led to head coach Darian Devries, as well as athletic director Wren Baker, released statements about this. Devries said he was “shocked” that his team had no chance to compete for the national title.
“It is clear that we are extremely shocked, sad and disappointed because we are not selected for the NCAA tournament,” said the statement. “We are convinced that we have a CV that a NCAA tournament team is worth. I am incredibly proud of this team and what they have achieved. They have poured their hearts in this season and put all their collective efforts into making the NCAA tournament, and I believe they have done that.”

Baker added: “I can’t understand that this team was omitted. Our resume was better than different teams in the field and it is a terrible travesty that we were not admitted.”
One of the most important statistical backings for a team is Quadrant 1 victories, which determines the selection committee as a match against a team that is in the top 30 of the Net (the NCAAs Evaluation Tool) at home, against a team that has arranged 1-50 on a neutral court and 1-75 in Way matches.
West Virginia had six victories in Quad 1 matches, while North Carolina, a team that had problems making the tournament, went 1-12 in those matches. The mountain climbers also had more than four ranked teams this season, including at-time no. 2 Iowa State, no. 3 Gonzaga (in a neutral court) and no. 7 Kansas.
Their three victories at AP Top 10 teams are the most in the Big 12 this season.
So, Morrisey called the resignation of the mountain climbers “ridiculous” and “outrageous” during an interview With Newsmax.

He also suggested that, although he served as an attorney of the State, a successful lawsuit against the NCAA could have led to the snub in the past.
“Is this retribution?” He said, referring to the lawsuit he had with the administrative body where he successfully challenged the transfer rules in 2024. “We will have to pronounce that.”
The athletic director of UNC, Bubba Cunningham, is also chairman of the selection committee. He said SundayAfter the bracket was announced that he was not in the Chamber for the decision to let the Tar Heels in as the last team in the field.
Instead, he qualified for Vice chairman Keith Gill, who explained how the Tar Heels came in.

“Our policy requires the advertisement of a school to restore itself and leave the room for those discussions. And they are also not allowed to participate in a vote. … We voted in four teams in the field on Saturday evening and we had an unforeseen voice.
“The unforeseen voice, that was the last team in the field. And it was based on Memphis-Uab. If Memphis won that match, that would free up a place in the tournament and that would be North Carolina.”
