March Madness: Fan throws water bottle on the field in Louisville-Creighton Game


It was early output for the eighth placed Louisville CardinalsHe lost to no. 9 Creighton, 89-75, in their home state of Kentucky in March Madness on Thursday.

In the Game’s last moments, Frustrations cooked.

Head coach Pat Kelsey, Louisville, was called for a technical error after screaming against an official, but that was the least worrying incident.

While both teams were huddled because of the error, a fan threw a water bottle on the field to the Creighton bank, which encouraged a small delay.

“That was a full bottle of water. That was very dangerous and it went straight over the Creighton bank,” said Play-by-Play-broadcaster Brian Anderson. “I will tell you who did that, should never be in this arena again.”

Jamiya Neal scored a career-high 29 points and had 12 rebounds, while Steven Ashworth connected from much further than the bow on its way to 22 points.

McDermott’s Bluejays (25-10) won their fifth consecutive Madness opener and defeated a team that is in the top 10 for the second time this season. Louisville (27-8) came, despite his impressive sowing, at number 10 in the AP Top 25.

Chucky Hepburn scored 22 points and Terrence Edwards Jr. Had 21 for Louisville (27-8), who improved his record with 19 victories in last season with a transfer-heavy schedule under Kelsey, a first-year head coach. It was the first appearance of the Cardinals of March since 2019, and they came across a Creighton team with a lot of Postseason experience.

“They played well today. They were the better team,” said Kelsey.

The Bluejays are number 1 Auburn in the Tour of 32 Saturday. Creighton would earn a upset, it is fourth sweet 16 appearance in the last five tournaments.
