Manchester United have announced a “transformation plan” that could lead to 200 redundancies.
The Club informed the New York Stock Exchange on its intentions this morning to return to profitability after five consecutive years of loss.
The news will not be well reduced with supporters frustrated with progress on the stadium – United is 15th in the Premier League – and a series of frustrating developments from it.
Nearly 250 employees became unnecessary last year, and reports this morning claimed that Sir Jim Jim Ratcliffe costs had still reached the closure of staff cante it.
Today’s statement was read: “Manchester United announces that it will transform its corporate structure as part of a series of additional measures to improve the club’s economic viability and enhance operational efficiency.
“The transformation plan aims to return the club to profitability after five consecutive losses since 2019. This will create a more stable economic platform from which the club can invest in the success of men and women football and improved infrastructure.
“As part of these measures, the Association expects that about 150-200 jobs can be unnecessary, without prejudice to a consultation process with employees. These would be in addition to the 250 roles removed last year.”
We have a responsibility – Berrada
United Omar Berrada’s chief executive said: “We have the responsibility to put Manchester United in the strongest position to win the groups of men, women and academy. We begin a wide range of measures that will transform and renew the Club.
Unfortunately, this means to announce further possible redundancies and we are deeply sorry with the impact on these affected colleagues. However, these hard choices are necessary to restore the club to a stable financial base.
“We have lost money for the last five consecutive years. This cannot be continued. .
“At the end of this process, we will have a more relentless, agile and financial sustainable football club, and will continue to provide a global service to our valuable commercial partners. Then we will be in a much stronger position to invest in football success and Improve facilities for fans while at the same time contributing to UEFA and Premier League regulations “
Expensive errors
United last week revealed that they excluded £ 4.1 million to hire and launch Dan Ashworth with the former club’s athletic director in the post for just 159 days.
They also had to pay Erik Ten Hag and his coaching staff of £ 10.4 million in compensation when the Dutch was fired in October, just three and a half months after one year’s signing was signed.
Ruben Amorim was appointed to Ten Hag, but the results have not improved with United winning just four of Portugal’s 15 championships.
