Manchester City will not change the way they play, says Pep

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola says his side will not change the way they play despite their poor form.

City face Juventus on Wednesday with a record of one win in their last nine games, but the former Barcelona boss is confident the 2023 Champions League winners will soon be back on track.

“Right now we’re not in a position, when we’ve had the results of the last seven, eight games, to talk about winning in the plural,” he said. Guardiola in his pre-match press conference in Italy.

“So we have to win the game and not see what happens in the next one.”

Losing Rodri through injury for the rest of the season was a major blow for City, but Guardiola insists that the solution to the problems should not be complicated.

He said: “It’s not a mental thing. It’s about making simple things better.

“They are professionals and as much as we are all together, we will be a stronger team.

“The way we want to play is not going to change for obvious reasons because our success has been there.

“I know when we can do that, we can play well.”

Defender Ruben Dias also believes City will emerge stronger from this difficult period.

The Portuguese said: “Having people question us is the only thing that gives you strength, it inspires you to be better.

“This is our legacy – more than the treble, four in a row. All of that is great, but I believe that what defines a legacy is how you react to the most difficult moments of your career.

“I truly believe that these moments are what define you. We embrace it. These are the things I will definitely remember later.”

City go into the game in 20th place in the new Champions League table.
