Man burned in New York subway


Police are looking for a suspect after a woman was set on fire and burned to death on a subway train Brooklyn, New York on Sunday in a gruesome and disturbing crime.

The New York City Police Department (NYPD) said it happened around 7:30 a.m. at the Stillwell Avenue subway station in Coney Island.

According to police, the woman slept on a stationary F train.

That’s when police say an unknown man approached the woman and set her on fire before leaving the subway.

EMS pronounced the woman dead at the scene.

A gruesome video posted online appears to show the woman standing on the train as she bursts into flames. A man matching the suspect’s description is seen sitting on a bench just outside the train and watching the woman burn.

The police are looking for a man described as 6 feet tall, 150 pounds and approximately 25 to 30 years old.

The suspect was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, a dark hat with a red band and brown boots, police said.

NYPD Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information about the incident.
