A Malibu man drove to the south this week to attend a ceremony in honor of the El Segundo fire brigaders of the engine 31 C -Peloton who assisted with the massive destructive Palissades Fire To thank them personally for saving his house.
Dr. Anthony Nesburn told Fox 11 That he would not have missed the ceremony and shares that not only the firefighters were able to save his house, but they also left him a note in his mailbox.
The note said that the house to the right of him was flooded in flames and that the fence that separated the two houses was about to set fire to, “and we kept the fire off that door.”
He said he was so grateful for the letter, “because I didn’t know how the house survived.”

It is an important bit of good news after Nesburn’s wife died last year. He told Fox 11 that he felt she was watching over him while the fire was raging.
The memorandum of firefighters also added: “We are so sorry for the destruction that your neighborhood has endured.”
In addition to a charred side door, Nesburn’s house remains completely intact. However, many of his neighbors were not lucky, and his son, who lives in the Pacific Palisades, also lost his.

“That was one of our more proud moments that were on the incident,” El Segundo Brandweer Matt Goedenough told Fox 11 that he was able to protect Nesburn’s Ocean View Home. “There are many houses that we have saved, but that in particular was just one of those we were proud of placing some kind of – I don’t know if you heard about the pink ribbon, but hanging the pink Lint was an indication of a save. ”
