The Maine House of Representatives voted for Rep. Laurel Libby to censor for a recent post on social media and pointed out that a transgender high school athlete won a girl competition.
The Democratic majority of the Maine house, led by speaker Ryan Fecteau, adopted the censorship resolution on Tuesday evening in a vote of 75-70. Libby is no longer allowed to speak on the floor of the house or vote until she apologizes.
Libby told Fox News Digital in an exclusive interview after the vote that she does not intend to apologize for her recent post.
After the censorship had been established, Fecteau told Libby that the members of the house would take a break while Libby considered her apology.
“I told him,” We don’t have to take too convenience “because I would continue to speak for Maine girls,” Libby said.

Libby’s post came last Sunday when she pointed out that a transgender track and field athlete had first place in a Maine Girls’ pole Vault Competition after he had participated as a boy just a year earlier. The starting point of Libby’s censorship by the Maine House was aimed at the fact that she posted a photo of a minor and took care of the name of that minor.
“It is a remarkable double standard because in many places there are public photos of this person, on social media and even some posted by his school, and so yes, this message went viral, but this was a person who participated in a public event , who was publicly on a stage and accepted a championship medal that legally belonged to the girls who were in second place, “said Libby.
House majority leader Matt Moonen condemned Libby in a statement on the floor of the house.
“She has the confidence placed in her as a chosen official who is placed in this house of delegates, irreparably broken,” said Moonen. “This institution and the whole of Maine earn better.”
Huisminheid leader Billy Bob Faulkingham spoke out against the censorship and pointed out that the ethical code of the state legislator does not mention online messages that members make.
During Tuesday’s vote, Libby came to the house floor with a prepared speech of seven pages about the importance of protecting girls and women’s sports against trans-inclusion. During the night, however, her microphone was consistently eliminated when she tried to give that speech.
“I was unable at all, from my first sentence, to get a word before the other side closed me,” Libby said, adding that she had never seen anything like that happening during her tenure in the legislative power of Maine.
Libby later posted a video of her that gave the speech On Facebook After the hearing.
The transgenderism in the sport shifted the 2024 elections and a national counterculture was aware
Libby says that although she does not intend to apologize, she has another way of acting that she is planning to regain her voice and speaking privileges, but has not announced any details of that plan.
Maine Republicans and Libby’s voters will now lose a voice and a voice for other issues in the legislative process of the state in the midst of a busy month.
Libby recently proposed a bill to expand access to sources for mental health care for residents of Maine, which she cannot help now. In the coming weeks, the Maine house will vote on the next biennial budget, and Libby will not vote on that either.
“It seems that I will not be able to talk about that or vote on that,” she said.
Libby’s Revelation of the Trans -Athlete ignited the national conversation and coverage of the State for Trans -Inclusion State after Maine had announced that it would not comply with the recent “No Men in Women’s Sports” executor of President Donald Trump.
Trump then promised to reduce financing to the state because he refused to follow his order during a meeting of governors in the White House last Thursday.
On Friday, the Mills office responded with a statement that endangered legal action against the Trump administration if it had remembered the federal financing of the state. Then Trump and Mills Verbaal sparkled in a broadly published argument in the White House during a two -part meeting of governors.
Only a few hours after that interaction, the US Department of Education announced that it will be Investigating the state To allow transatletes to compete in girls sports and potential title IX violations.
Protection has since been assigned to high school that is attended by the Transatleet that Libby has identified in its Facebook message in the midst of concern about safety.

A recent New York Times/Ipsos Survey Did found that the vast majority of Americans, including a majority of Democrats, does not believe that transgender athletes should be allowed to compete in women’s sports.
Of the 2,128 people who participated, 79% said that biological men who identify as women are not allowed to participate in women’s sports. Of the 1,025 people who identified as Democrats or Leaning Democrat, 67% said that transgender athletes should not be allowed to compete with women.
For Libby she has her own hypothesis about why Democrat Wetgevers in her state, and many throughout the country, fight so hard to protect trans -inclusion in girls, despite most Americans, and even most Democrats that are against it.
“I think the position of Maine Democrats is that they did not go fast enough and they have to bury,” said Libby.
But she expects Democrats to fight for their current position and censor her on Tuesday evening, will be counterproductive on them.
“I think this was a huge mistake on the part of the Democrats, and they are completely wrong this issue, and they do not understand how powerful Maine people disagree with them about this policy, and they will at a certain point regretted this promotion tonight, “she said.
Libby added that she believes that her Republican colleagues have her back while fighting censorship.
