“Real Time” Gastheer Bill Maher had some choice words for the Trump administration after the arrest of anti-Israel activist Mahmoud Khalil.
Khalil, a leader of the Columbia University Protests who is a Syrian citizen, was held this week by ICE when the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that it is withdrawing its green card and student visa for speartures that the Department of Homeland Security says that “are tailored to Hamas, a designated terrorist organization.”
During Friday’s panel discussion, Maher predicted that “future historians” look back and assume that both political parties “have forgotten free speech”.

“We talked about the speech of JD Vance in Europe a few weeks ago. We came up with what they are there and in this country … But it is not as if this administration really has a leg to get up. They don’t care,” Maher told the panel.
“I don’t agree with his position, but you know what? If you are an honest person, you have to defend him if you believe in free speech, because that is what freedom of expression means,” Maher said about Khalil. “I say it all the time when it’s on the other foot, and I can’t change because it’s now this guy. It defends the unpaved bags you hate.”
“I don’t think they have anything about this man, except that he says things that I can’t believe that children believe now. I have not seen this, this bizarre alliance of jihadism and awakening. You know,” (Intifada) is the only solution! ” Real (Intifada) is the only solution worldwide?

State Secretary Marco Rubio argued the arrest of Khalil and awaiting deportation is ‘not about free speech’.
“When you come to the United States as a visitor, what a visa is – that is how this person arrived at this country, on a visitor visa – as a visitor, we can deny you that visa,” ” Said rubio. “When you tell us when you Apply, ‘Hi, I’m trying to get into the united States on a student Visa. I am a big supporter of Hamas, a murderous, barbaric group that kidnaps children, that rapes teenage takes, is that tanage, conds, is that, istness, conds, that allness, iste -girls, that alles, datives, datives, datives, that alles, datives, that alles, that alles, that alles, datives, datives, datives, that alles, that alles, that allness, datives, datives, datives, that alles, that alles, that alles, that alles, that alles, that alles thattives, that allness, datives, that allness, there, is that teenage teenage tanage, datives, that alles thattives, that’s that allness, there. returns more bodies than live hostages,’ if you tell us that you are in favor of a group like this and if you tell us when you apply for your visa, ‘and by the way, I Ben van plan om naar je land te komen als student en alle soorten anti-joodse student, antisemitische activiteiten, ik ben van plan je universiteiten te sluiten, ‘als je ons al deze dingen vertelde toen You have requested your visa, we would deny your visa. “
Rubio continued: “Once you really do that once you are in this country with such a visa, we will withdraw it, and if you finally have a green card, not a citizenship, but a green card, but a green card as a result of that visa while you do those activities here, we are not that simple to a green card.”
