Liverpool Captain Virgil van Dijk weighs offer from Saudi Arabia

Virgil Van Dijk received a lucrative offer to join the Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal, according to a report on the French Daily L’Equipe.

Liverpool’s captain is not an Anfield contract at the end of the season and was free to speak in a club from abroad since January 1st.

L’Equipe Say Van Dijk deals with the agreement worth mentioning £ 320,000 per week.

The 33-year-old is one of Liverpool’s three main players whose contracts expire in the summer, along with Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Alexander-Arnold is likely to join Real Madrid into a free transfer, while the future of the top Scorer Salah remains uncertain.

Van Dijk says he is in the dark

Speaking of his own situation after the elimination of the Liverpool Champions League in the hands of Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night, Van Dijk insisted that he had no idea where he would play next season.

He said to the Times: “I have no idea. I have no idea yet at the moment. Really, I have no idea at the moment.

“It’s not on hold. Nothing on waiting. There’s only … I keep saying the same thing.

“Listen, there are 10 games to go, and this is my full focus. If there are new ones, you will know.

“At the moment, I don’t even know what will happen next year. If someone says they know, they lie on your face.”

Wembley Date Next Up for Liverpool and Van Dijk

Then for Liverpool is the final of Sunday’s EFL Cup against Newcastle, an Alexander-Arnold game is likely to lose through an injury.

Arne Slot’s side is also 15 points at the top of the Premier League and Van Dijk insists that there is still a lot to play.

“There are 10 games, there aren’t many, and there are two big awards we can still get,” added the Dutchman, who joined Liverpool from Southampton in January 2018.

“We will give everything. We have to feel his frustration (PSG), but now it is for recovery.

“If we bring this tension to Wembley with our fans, then I’m positive. I’m always positive. But I’m really looking forward to going out there.

“We do not need an additional motivation. We have 10 games. The EFL Cup final on Sunday – if you need an additional motivation, you are in the wrong business.

“All fans want to celebrate (winning). But it will be difficult. Any final is difficult. I really look forward.

“We are out of the Champions League. This is normal, human. Recover and focus on Sunday. This is our job, we need our fans to be there for us.”
