Lionel Messi has been fined on a non -announced amount after lifting the neck of an opposing coach on the weekend.
The star of Inter Miami was involved in a conversation with New York Assistant Mehdi Ballouchy after the Fort Lauderdale clash.
It seemed quite welcoming from the beginning, but, after initially leaving, Messi turned around and pushed the back of Ballouchy’s neck and was apparently handled to meet the couple inside.
A MLS statement last night confirmed his ratification. Read: “The MLS Disciplinary Committee has been imposed a fine Inter miami cf forward Lionel messi An un -announced amount of hand violation on the face/head/throat of a political opponents after the end of the Inter Miami match New York FC February 22. ”
Suarez was also punished
Messi’s teammate, Luis Suarez, received the same ratification after a confrontation with NYC Birk Risa defender at half time.
The Argentine Messi captain cut off a frustrated figure after a 2-2 draw in the MLS opener on his side.
Miami had retired from Toto Aviles in the first half, and Messi faced referee Rosendo Mendoza in the final whistle, pursuing aggressively and showing his face before showing the yellow card.
