Environmental groups with ties with anti-Israeli groups, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)and billionaire mega-donors put pressure on democratic conference leadership to pursue an agenda of “no immunity” for the fossil fuel industry.
“We write to encourage democratic members of the house and the Senate to proactively and affirmatively reject each proposal that would protect fossil fuel companies against the growing number of legal and legislative efforts to keep them responsible for their role in the climate crisis,” a letter of nearly 200 environmental groups to SEN. Chuck Schumer, DN.Y. and rep. Hakeem Jeffries, DN.Y., Reads.
The signatories include the Westchester People’s Action Coalition (Wespac), a tax sponsor of students for Justice Palestine, a pro-Palestinian group that has orchestrated dozens of anti-Israeli protests since the terrorist attack of 6 October.

Another charger was the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), one of the largest environmental activist groups in the country, accused by the Republican members of the congress of having “substantial” ties with the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
The president and CEO of NRDC, Manish Bapna, is a council member of the China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development (CCED), a “platform for cooperation and policy development between Chinese and international researchers.”
Senator Ted Cruz and Rep. Bob Deans, spokesperson for NRDC, told Fox News Digital in a statement: “This letter confirms a simple principle: the polluter pays for the damage they cause. The fossil fuel industry may not be rejected for the damage caused to the contamination;
“The NRDC is an independent, non-profit, public interest group that works to confront the climate crisis and to protect the environment and public health. When developing our institutional functions-in the United States, China and everywhere else in the world-weed faith on our US senior leadership and no other, and no other.
Foreign funded groups, extension uprising and the Center for Climate Integrity (CCI), participated in the letter to Democratic Leadership.
CCI promoted in their form of 2022 990 the idea “that climate polluters must be held financially responsible for the climate damage that they deliberately caused in the middle of the climate debate.”
The group, which received a subsidy of more than a million dollars from the billionaire-driven Rockefeller Famy Fund in 2018, said they “support conference research designed to expose the historical and continuous climate fraud of the oil and gas industry.”
The Children’s Investment Fund Foundation, founded by the European billionaire Christopher Hohn, donated $ 7 million to CCI from January 2018 to September 2020 in an attempt “to accelerate climate action by supporting a lawsuit that promotes climate mitigation, adjustment and resilience.”
