LAURA INGRAHAM: Something profound has changed for America’s youth. Teenagers and young people between 18 and 34 years old are really in trouble. That leads to horrific outcomes of random, vicious attacks at strangers, when we saw two calculated, well-planned acts of murder. What drives these seemingly normal people and other Americans to commit such depraved acts? Is this a more predictable massacre of fatherless homes and broken homes? Yes, maybe, but Mangione’s family was intact.
They were like, you know, royalty in Baltimore. Young people who get lost and become radicalized online are a lot of people. Does this lead to loneliness and depression? Does that ultimately lead to anger? Of course, many liberals reflexively blame guns and run for gun control.

Kamala Harris said that today, but that’s not productive. Guns will not be banned and young people who want to get their hands on a gun will always be able to do so. We have to dig deeper. Has the constant bombardment of violent images on screens large and small simply desensitized us? Is doom scrolling sometimes in the middle of the night, crimes on social media giving young people a distorted sense of community that they would otherwise miss?
