The 40-year-old rapper revealed via his Instagram story On Thursday, Jan. 23, that a “die-hard fan” broke into his home — and simultaneously took aim at trolls for joking about the incident online.
“Hey so I want to clear this up because I see the internet is running and making jokes and this SH – it’s not funny,” he wrote via the post. “The man who broke into my house was a crazy fan who had been stalking me for years without my knowledge. He was in shows, events I’ve done In the States and abroad. “
In the lengthy caption, Kid Cudi went on to detail the extreme and scary lengths the stalker went to in order to get close to the rapper.
“He came all the way across the country and broke into my house hoping to talk to me about collaborations and ideas he had,” he continued. “There’s nothing funny about that. My privacy was violated and now I have to protect myself. I don’t feel safe now. He rummaged through personal stuff, my fiancee’s stuff, showered and ate while thinking he was actually going to have a conversation with me. This is a wild 34-year-old man. Not homeless. “
Kid Cudi explained that he will increase his security in light of the incident and has now put him on edge when it comes to any interactions with fans moving forward.

“I will be taking some serious security measures to make sure this doesn’t happen again,” the caption continued. “I’m not online to see the comments but my word is back, people are putting this out and it’s not good. If I object When you see me in public, this is why. “
Tmz It was reported on Jan. 16 that law enforcement arrested the intruder at the music star’s Los Angeles home after he was spotted on security cameras in the kitchen. Per TMZ, Kid Cudi was not home at the time.
Earlier this month, Kid Cudi was also in the mix thousands of inhabitants who were forced to evacuate as wildfires ravaged parts of Los Angeles.
“Hey guys, had to evacuate my mind,” he wrote on his Instagram story at the time. “I am safe, I my loved ones, the dogs are safe. To all the people who have lost their homes, people who are dealing with this, my heart aches for you and I am for you all praying and I send all my love to you and yours. If you must evacuate, get out immediately. Don’t hesitate. Stay safe LA. I love you guys. “
