Katie Holmes denies that her daughter Suri has a trust fund from Tom Cruise

Katie Holmes debunked rumors that the ex-husband Tom Cruise have provided an inheritance of one million dollars to their 18-year-old daughter Suri.

“Totally false,” Holmes, 45, wrote via Instagram on Sunday, December 8. “You can stop making things up.”

The actress captioned her post “Enough.

Holmes was previously married to Cruise, 62, between 2006 and 2012. The two welcomed their only daughter together in 2006. Suri graduated from high school earlier this year, going by the name “Suri Noel” in the school curriculum. She is now a freshman in college.

“I’m proud of my daughter,” Holmes gushed to City and Province in profile for August. “Of course I’ll miss the closeness, but I’m really proud of her and happy.”

The Dawson’s Creek alum added: “I remember being that age, that time of the beginning. It’s exciting to learn about yourself and I loved that time, so it makes me happy to think about it that way.”

While Holmes is excited watch Suri spread her wingsshe is more concerned about becoming an empty nester.

“The members of my book club are going to cringe when they hear me,” Holmes joked City and Province. “I’ll say, ‘Let’s meet once a week.’

Holmes has kept Suri out of the limelight for most of her life.

“Suri is a great kid,” a source exclusively speaking Us Weekly in April 2019 “She is so kind and well-mannered. She is extremely polite and respectful. She is just a good girl who is a joy to be around.

According to the insider, Suri is “very firmly on the ground.”

“She doesn’t come across as spoiled,” the source added at the time. “She is kind and always shows gratitude. She is a normal tween. She likes pop music and fashion and hanging out with her friends. She is engaged in ballet and dancing. This is one of her favorite hobbies. She is curious and loves to learn. She is doing well in school.’

Holmes, for his part, had previously considered becoming a single parent.

“That time was intense,” she said InStyle in 2020referring to his divorce. “It was a lot of attention, and I also had a small child. (Suri and I) had some fun times out and about in public.”

Since then, Holmes has been trying to get Suri to lean into her “individuality.”

“(I want to) make sure she is 100 percent herself and is strong and confident and capable. And I know it, – added Holmes InStyle. “She came out very strong – she’s always been a strong person. She’ll pick an activity and work her ass off until she gets really good at it. Then she says, ‘Okay, I’ll try the next thing.’ She’s very focused and works hard.”
