“Colonel Catherine” is back.
Kate Middleton attended the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade of the Irish guards on 17 March in the Wellington Barracks in London. The princess of Wales missed the procession in 2024 when she recovered from what Kensington Palace described as a ‘planned belly surgery’. On March 22 of that year, the 43-year-old announced that she had cancer.

This year also marked the first time that the 43-year-old attended the festivities in her role as the Colonel of the Irish guards without her husband, Prince William, Mensmagazine reported. According to the outlet, the princess took over the role of Colonel from the Irish guards in 2022 from William. That year, King Charles III rose to the throne after the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II.

The prince had served as a colonel of the Irish guards since 2011. That year he wore the deep red tunic uniform of unity When he married Kate.
The princess made her first solo -military engagement as a senior member of the royal family when she came to William in 2012 in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. On that day she spent Shamrocks on soldiers and met soldiers.

Kate announced in September That she had completed chemotherapy treatment.
“As the summer comes, I can’t tell you what a relief it is to finally have completed my chemotherapy treatment,” she wrote. “The last nine months have been incredibly difficult for us as a family. Life as you know can change it into an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate unknown by stormy waters and the road.”
“The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those who are closest to you,” she shared.

“With humility, it also brings you personally with your own vulnerabilities in a way that you have never considered before, and with that a new perspective on everything. This time William and I have reminded it to think and be grateful for the simple but important things in life, which many of us often assign as awarded.
“Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long, and I have to keep taking every day as it comes,” the princess went on. “However, I am looking forward to being back at work and to undertake a few public commitments in the coming months when I can. Despite everything that has gone earlier, I will be in this new recovery phase with a renewed sense of hope and appreciation for life.”

The British broadcaster Jonathan Sacerdoti previously told Fox News Digital that the princess will continue to prioritize her health and family.
“Now that she is cancer -free, her next steps have a balance between maintaining her health and resuming royal tasks,” he said.
Sacerdoti noted that she “will continue to concentrate on causes such as mental health and the development of children.”
