Her letter was announced via Instagram on Saturday, November 30, along with black-and-white photos of the Princess of Wales’ neat signature at the bottom of the message.
“A special letter reflecting the importance of love, empathy and how much we need each other in the most difficult times,” the caption reads, revealing that the letter will be given to “each of the guests” who visit her.Together at Christmas” carol service at Westminster Abbey on Friday 6 December, as well as the 15 other ‘Carol Services’ across the country, ‘thanking those who attend for all they do for others’.
In her message, Kate, 42, shared her “heartfelt thanks” to those involved in her Christmas service, noting, “Christmas is one of my favorite times of the year,” according to hello. The Princess of Wales has hosted the Together at Christmas service for four years in a row.
“It’s a time for celebration and joy, but it also gives us an opportunity to slow down and reflect on the deeper things that connect us all,” she wrote. “When we stop and step away from the pressures of everyday life, we find space to live our lives with an open heart, with love, kindness and forgiveness – so much of what the Christmas spirit is.”
Kate added that Christmas “encourages us to consider the experiences and feelings of others”, just as it “reflects our own vulnerabilities and reminds us of the importance of giving and receiving empathy and how much we need each other despite our differences .”
Her letter continues: “Love is the light that can shine brightly even in the darkest of times. We all have something to offer each other. Kind words or a receptive ear, an arm around a weary shoulder or the silent presence of someone.”
Earlier this year, Kate took a step back from her official royal duties after being diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer. In September she completed his chemotherapy and began to gradually return to work.
