Juventus coach Sack Thiago Motta with Igor Tudor taking over Turin

Juventus rejected Thiago Motta as their director and was named Igor Tudor as his successor.

The decision follows the seizure defeats in Serie A, with Juventus suffering from 4-0 loss at Atalanta’s home and a 3-0 defeat to Fiorentina.

These frustrating results have left the club in fifth place, the leaders of the Inter championship with 12 points.

In addition, Juventus has suffered an unexpected exit from the Champions League in February, falling on the PSV Eindhoven in the Play-Off round.

Their hopes of Coppa Italia were also interrupted shortly afterwards, as they were eliminated from Empoli in the quarter -finals after a penalty.

A club’s statement on Sunday confirmed the management change: “Juventus FC announces that it has relieved Thiago Motta of his position as a coach of the first men’s team.

“Juventus FC also announces that she has assigned the leadership of the first men’s team to Igor Tudor, who will direct the first training tomorrow.”

Motta, who assumed Juventus’ responsibility in June in a three -year agreement, had previously led Bologna to the Champions League condition.

His tenure at Juve included an undefeated series of 21 games in the league, but with 13 of these matches ending in draws, his side never really supported the title.

The recent series of poor results proved to be the fracture point, frustrating both the fans and the club’s officials.

During his time on the steering wheel, Motta took a steady stance on the team’s decisions. Federico Chiesa, for example, was informed that it was not part of the manager’s long -term plans and then made the transition to Liverpool last August.

Tudor, 46, is a former Juventus and Croatian player who last managed Lazio.

His previous experience with Juventus includes the service of his assistant coach Andrea Pirlo during the 2020 season. He will take over his first match as a new Juve director when the team faces Genoa on Saturday.
