Julia Stiles did not care Harvey Weinstein’s Requests for reshoots on a film in which she played, and said it felt “slimy” and the end product was “very poorly executed”.
Stiles spoke about making her 2000 Teen Rom-Com “Down To You” on the “Films to be buried with Brett Goldstein” Podcast.
“It was a time that Teen Rom coms were very popular,” she explained. “The director (Kris IsacSson) wrote the script. He was a first director and he was a very, very intelligent, capable man. The script was very good. And then Harvey Weinstein got it and decided to take advantage of this trend. And it just got stupid.”
“Down to you” also played Freddie Prinze Jr., of which Stiles noted, “beautiful, (and a) beautiful actor.”

According to Stiles, Weinstein wanted to get the best out of her recent success with other teenage -oriented films with her dancing.
“They pour money on it in stupid ways,” she said. “So when we went and went on, and I was told that he (Weinstein) decided that because of the success of ‘Save the Last Dance’ or the success of ’10 things I hate to you ‘ With me dancing on the pool table, he had to let me dance in the movie. “
While the actress “Mona Lisa Smile” admitted that she loved dancing in her projects and “making a whole film”, she thought it was not logical for her character.
“I love dancing, but it was stupid. It was like,” Ok, let’s bring her to a pool table. ” It wasn’t even imaginative, “said Stiles. “And I felt so slimy to do it all the time. I don’t know if it actually made it in the film, but it was annoying, because I had something like that, this is so cheap and it is not the story.”
