A federal court has ruled against federal employees who have sued the Trump government due to privacy and safety problems around an e -mail distribution system of the government personnel.
The new computer server was used to send a deferred dismissal “fork in the way” e -mails to more than 2 million federal employees who offer them to leave their jobs from the government and to be paid until September, or the risk dismissed.
The Federal Judge Randolph Moss, based in DC, refused a request for a temporarily limiting order (TO) that the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) would have blocked to continue to use the e-mail address [email protected] and is known as The ‘Government – wide e -mail system. “
The lawsuit claimed that in the hurry to adopt this new system, OPM has violated security protectors for federal employees, known as a Privacy Impact Statement (PIA).
But when refusing legal emergency aid, the judge said: “Plaintiffs have not demonstrated their burden to show that their .gov -e -mail addresses (who reveal their names and, possibly, their employment) in an imminent risk of exposure outside The United States States Government – much less that this risk is the result of the failure of OPM to conduct an adequate PIA.
According to the court case, shortly after Trump received the performance, e -mails received from the e -mail address [email protected] that indicated that the office carried out tests for a new “distribution and response list”.
“The purpose of these tests is to confirm that an e -mail can be sent and answered by all government employees,” said one of the e -mails, according to the court case. Employees were asked to confirm receipt of the messages.
The case will continue with the merits in the courts, but for now the new communication system will remain in force, pending a profession.
